Tradesman imparts General Contractor skills in electrical, carpentry, plumbing and all aspects of building as well as craftsman training. NEDC training provides a graduate an advantage in landing a job or apprenticeship with a working professional, which qualifies the graduate to sit for the state-licensing exam. A maximum of six participants go through the program per class. Participants gain newfound self-esteem working together in our well-equipped center and heavy-duty contractor truck, acquiring new skills and an understanding of their abilities. Whether offsite training or onsite development of business skills, the Center encourages entrepreneurship by providing a full scope of services.
The program undertakes the renovation of rundown buildings, where participants apply their newly acquired skills. The aim is to sell finished buildings at a reasonable cost to low-income families, thereby helping community stabilization as well as program participants. A portion of profits is donated back to the Tradesman program.
